Generalized optical theorem

چکیده

Abstract We present the generalized optical theorem and its applications with special emphasis on roles of bound states. First, we prove which gives a necessary sufficient condition for function $\langle {\bf {\it k}^{\prime}} | T k}} \rangle$ two variables $\ k}}^{\prime }$ ${\bf k}}$ to be physically acceptable as half-on-shell T-matrix, i.e., have an underlying Hermitian potential V. Second, using theorem, construct scattering theory starting from T-matrix } \rangle$, in turn introduces very useful classification scheme potentials. In end, application our theory, most general solution inverse problem numerical examples.

GENERALIZED PRINCIPAL IDEAL THEOREM FOR MODULES

The Generalized Principal Ideal Theorem is one of the cornerstones of dimension theory for Noetherian rings. For an R-module M, we identify certain submodules of M that play a role analogous to that of prime ideals in the ring R. Using this definition, we extend the Generalized Principal Ideal Theorem to modules.

Generalized optical theorem for surface waves and layered media.

We present a generalized optical theorem for surface waves. The theorem also applies to body waves since under many circumstances body waves can be written in terms of surface-wave modal summations. This theorem therefore extends the domain of applicability of the optical theorem from homogeneous background media to a general class of body and surface-wave propagation regimes within layered ela...

n seismic interferometry , the generalized optical theorem , and the cattering

We have analyzed the far-field approximation of the Green’s function representation for seismic interferometry. By writing each of the Green’s functions involved in the correlation process as a superposition of a direct wave and a scattered wave, the Green’s function representation is rewritten as a superposition of four terms. When the scattered waves are modeled with the Born approximation, i...

The reciprocity theorem for the scattered field is the progenitor of the generalized optical theorem.

By analyzing correlation-type reciprocity theorems for wavefields in perturbed media, it is shown that the correlation-type reciprocity theorem for the scattered field is the progenitor of the generalized optical theorem. This reciprocity theorem, in contrast to the generalized optical theorem, allows for inhomogeneous background properties and does not make use of a far-field condition. This t...

Field Fluctuations, Imaging with Backscattered Waves, a Generalized Energy Theorem, and the Optical Theorem

We show the connection between four aspects of wave propagation: the autocorrelation of field fluctuations, imaging with backscattered waves, a theorem for energy flow, and the generalized optical theorem. The autocorrelation of field fluctuations can be used to extract the imaginary component of the Green’s function at the source. The Green’s function usually is singular at the source, but the...
